Art Collection

The Foundation’s library houses over 2,000 titles, focusing primarily on poetry in Galician, Spanish, and Portuguese, alongside translations of world poetry, literary magazines, and plaquettes (chapbooks). The collection also includes exhibition catalogues, artists’ books, and works on philosophy, art, and the social sciences, illustrating Uxío Novoneyra’s broad intellectual curiosity and literary influences.

Meanwhile, the family art collection offers a retrospective journey through Galician painting from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. It reflects the close artistic bonds Novoneyra forged with painters such as Reimundo Patiño, Laxeiro, Carlos Maside, and Tino Grandío, whose visual worlds he frequently wove into his poetry.

Novoneyra also penned essays and introductions for art catalogues commissioned by curators and painters, drawn to his passionate engagement with the avant-garde and Action Painting—movements that profoundly shaped his visual poetry and his work as a printmaker.
